Terms of Use
These Terms govern access to CAnime, including marketplace listings, convention information, activity posts, public profiles, messaging, notifications and moderation tools.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using CAnime, you agree to these Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy, Posting Policy and any additional rules shown in the product. If you do not agree, you must not use CAnime.
CAnime is currently designed for users in Toronto/GTA and Canada. Some features may be expanded, changed, suspended or discontinued as the service grows.
2. Our service
CAnime provides an online information and community platform for anime, cosplay and subculture users, including second-hand listings, convention calendars, photography and activity posts, user profiles, messaging, notifications, feedback and administrative review tools.
CAnime is not a party to transactions, photography arrangements, event attendance, shipping, payment, refunds or offline meetings between users. Unless a feature expressly states otherwise, CAnime does not provide escrow, payment processing, delivery, insurance, buyer protection or seller protection.
3. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be able to form a binding agreement under the laws that apply to you. If you are under the age of majority in your province or territory, you may use CAnime only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials, email, phone verification and CAnime ID secure.
- Your CAnime ID must comply with platform rules and must not impersonate another person, organization, brand, moderator or official account.
- You must provide accurate account and profile information where accuracy is required for safety, moderation, identity review or communication.
4. User content and licence
You remain responsible for the listings, photos, profile information, messages, activity posts, feedback and other content you submit to CAnime. You represent that you have the rights and permissions necessary to post that content.
To operate CAnime, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, format, moderate, translate, excerpt, distribute and otherwise use your content solely for providing, improving, protecting and promoting CAnime and its related services.
Public content may be visible to other users, indexed by search engines, cached by browsers or preserved in moderation records. Private messages are not public, but may be reviewed where necessary for safety, abuse reports, legal compliance or platform integrity.
5. Prohibited conduct
- Do not use CAnime for fraud, scams, phishing, spam, harassment, threats, hate, discrimination, sexual exploitation, illegal activity or unsafe offline conduct.
- Do not scrape, crawl, bulk download, mirror, index or compile CAnime content without written permission.
- Do not reverse engineer, probe, overload, bypass rate limits, interfere with security controls, use unauthorized automation or attempt to access non-public systems.
- Do not use CAnime content, user data or messages to train, evaluate or operate machine-learning systems or competing databases without written permission.
- Do not create multiple accounts to avoid enforcement, manipulate reviews, repost removed content or mislead other users.
6. Moderation and enforcement
CAnime may review, reject, hide, edit labels for, move, limit distribution of, archive or remove content that violates these Terms, our Posting Policy, applicable law or community safety standards.
We may suspend or terminate accounts, restrict features, revoke verification badges, preserve evidence, notify affected users, or cooperate with law enforcement, regulators and rights holders where appropriate.
Moderation decisions may consider user reports, automated signals, account history, safety risk, legal risk and operational judgment. We are not obligated to publish or retain any specific user content.
7. Transactions, meetups and activities
Users are solely responsible for verifying item condition, price, ownership, event details, photography terms, schedules, identities and safety arrangements. Meet in public places, avoid unnecessary deposits, keep communication records and use caution with external contact methods.
CAnime does not guarantee that listings, event details, seller claims, buyer intentions, photography portfolios, identity badges or user reviews are complete, accurate, lawful or current.
8. Intellectual property
CAnime, its name, interface, layout, database structure, logos, design elements and platform compilation are owned by or licensed to CAnime. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, resell or create derivative services from the platform without written permission.
Fan, cosplay and second-hand communities often involve third-party characters, brands and works. Users must respect copyright, trademark, publicity and privacy rights when posting images, descriptions, commissions, merchandise or event materials.
9. Disclaimers
CAnime is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, accuracy and error-free operation.
We are not responsible for user conduct, offline meetings, third-party websites, external payment arrangements, shipping, event cancellations, photography disputes, lost items or content supplied by users or third parties.
10. Limitation of liability and indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CAnime will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, loss of profits, loss of goodwill, data loss, personal injury, property damage, transaction losses or offline disputes arising from your use of the service.
You agree to indemnify and hold CAnime, its operators, contractors, moderators and service providers harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses arising from your content, your use of the service, your transactions or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
11. Changes, termination and governing law
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on this page and take effect when posted unless otherwise stated. Continued use of CAnime means you accept the updated terms.
